"Jim's Camp" on Skaneateles Lake

My brother, Jim has a neat cabin next door.  It's called Jim's "Camp" because the folks in Skaneateles actually call their lake homes "Camps".   The "camp" idea came from the turn of the century when the NY city moguls (Rockefellers etc.) would build their summer "camps" in Upstate NY.

This camp, however, is not a boy scout camp or a primitive church camp.  Jim's camp is eight years old, has beautiful furnishings and decorations (most brand new) and, like Paul's Cabin, is meticulously serviced and amenities provided by Skaneateles Suites.  The linens are fresh, the floors shine, the counters and sinks sparkle and the windows are all cleaned weekly.   The place is very comfortable and very clean ... a hard place to find.

We just need more pictures!!  Jim only let me take some pictures of his interior because he ordered a bunch of new furniture and wants a good impression the first time you see this site.

Living Room

a massive Pennsylvania creek stone fireplace spans the basement to the living room's cathedral ceiling.  When you see this work, you'll think that the mason must have spent half of his life building this beautiful structure.  The floors in the cabin are red oak ... milled from the very trees that stood where the camp was built.  (It's kind of that whole "nature cycle" thing)

Jim only buys the best.  His furniture is new,  and Stickley, of course. Decorations complement the Stickley furniture throughout.

Jim's Camp, like Paul's Cabin, is serviced by Skaneateles Properties ..... everything shines!

Lakeside View

This is the  view that you get from the deck and the master loft.  Trees, privacy and the most beautiful, clear lake you have ever seen.

Hot tub

In the Spring and Fall, the hot tub is fired up and running.  Enjoy the peace and quiet while submerged in the tub.  Not even Paul's Cabin has a hot tub.

Decks

The decks are set into the trees with a filtered view of the lake, 75 feet away.  The natural presence is spectacular.  We provide the freshly ground Starbucks Coffee .... you just need to relax here early in the morning before anyone wakes up.  It's an experience.

Bed Rooms

Jim's camp has four bedrooms with sleeping beds for 8, 9 or 10....depending how friendly you are.

1. Master Loft -- I can't believe that I forgot to take a picture of the best bedroom.  A King size bed graces the master suite.  DVD player, bathroom.

2. Bunk Room -- pictured here.

3. Guest Room -- Queen size bed and futon.

4.  Fourth bedroom  -- a Full size and a Double bed.

Beds

All of our beds are made with crisp hotel linens serviced by Skaneateles Properties.  We feel that a great bed is critical to a great vacation.

Bathrooms and Kitchens

The bathrooms (2) and the kitchen sparkle with cleanliness.  This is a very clean home.

I need a picture of the kitchen as it has all the modern equipment, along with pots, pans, dishes and all the other helpful sundry items offered by Paul's Cabin.

More Decks

Five in all.  Some for the firepit,  some for the hammock and some for the casual walk to the lake.  Others to sit, relax and experience the beautiful, natural surroundings.

Lake Dock  -- walk down the stairs to Jim's dock for swimming, fishing or relaxing in the cleanest waters of America.  The dock goes out 20 feet, long enough for loading the family into a boat.

"Bugs" at Jim's Camp

Experience  Jim's camp is new on the market and there will probably be a few bugs that need to be worked out initially .... just as Paul's Cabin did three years ago.  We are looking forward to Jim's Camp growing into its own great experience.

Parking at Paul's Cabin is nice and flat.  So is Jim's .... the only problem is that it is elevated above the cabin and guests need to access the cabin by stone steps.  It's probably not the time for elderly guests, but we're working to resolve this issue.

Partially Finished Basement the walls and ceilings are done but the custom made doors have not yet arrived.  They look to be hung soon.  The basement floor is clean, but we hope to have it finished (probably tile)  next year.

Mosquitoes and Black Flies there are none of those kind of bugs here.  We want you to have an enjoyable stay and we want to represent ourselves accurately.  We look forward to no bugs of any kind.
