LakeFun

Skaneateles Lake, proudly claims itself as one of the purest lakes in the world.  It is spring fed and has a limestone floor -- no mud!  Boats of all sizes are able to maneuver her glacier etched depths.

Lake Front -- local building codes do not allow homes to be closer than 50 feet from the lake.  We built our cabin 51 feet from the water.  Just walk down the stairs and enjoy this quiet part of the lake.   We've kept the trees to keep the privacy.

Curt's Pontoon -- the best rate for a pontoon rental on the lake is from Curt -- he is the property manager for Paul's Cabin.  Curt has a special program for our guests.  Contact Curt at Skaneateles Suites for more info on this exclusive offer.

Boats  --  We love to take the boat to the "cliffs area" of the lake, for a beautiful swimming get-away.  Another fun adventure is taking a  boat ride into town for dinner, ice cream, shopping etc (public moorings available).  In the evening, drive the boat to the south end of the lake for a romantic dinner at the Glen Haven Inn.

Boat Launch -- -- a public launch is available on Skaneateles.  Anchor your boat at our moorings after you've launched.

Kayaks and Canoes -- you can rent them from Curt at Skaneateles Suites.  or take a kayak tour .

Fishing -- you can eat the fish out of this beautiful lake.  Rainbow trout,  salmon and bass are particularly good while the lakers are some of the largest in the U.S.  Fish hit like crazy in the spring time especially.  Lake trolling and charters are available or you can fish right off our dock.

Check out our Charter Fishing Trip Blog. for some great fishing and lake photos.  The "City Slickers" got the fish.

My Brother's Fishing Tale

Last Spring, my brother was standing on his dock and saw a trout swimming about twenty five feet out.  (That's how clear the water is.)   He grabbed his rod, cast and landed the fish.

I call this a tale, for fear that you won't believe the story.  Honestly, the tale is true.

Water Ski,Tubing, Snorkel and Swimming -- yes, yes and yes.   200 feet of  private waterfront awaits you at the bottom of the stairs.  Relax on the dock, wade, swim or ski.
