Nature

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived" --  Henry David Thoreau

Wild Life -- Paul's Cabin is surrounded by miles of forests and farms -- the perfect habitat for wildlife.  Deer, wild turkey, rabbits and raccoons are some of the animals that visit our property.

Nature Hikes -- walk for miles along peaceful seasonal roads surrounded by gorges, forests and streams.

Spring Time -- from the cabin, you can hear the water gushing through the gorges and down the streams to the lake.  You can't help but explore -- our favorite time of the year.

Fall -- walk among the quiet, peaceful sounds layered with the dramatic fall colors of the forest while you appreciate a special relationship with nature.

No Bugs !!! -- that's right.  None of those black flies that invade the Adirondacks.  The man who sold us the property three years ago told us at the time that there were no bugs (which, of course, we didn't believe).  After spending two summers there, our guests will attest that it is indeed practically "bug-less".

Biking -- once you get to the main road, you'll find a popular bike route along the lake. Farms, graceful estates and vineyards add interest to your ride.  Seems too hilly for us, but experienced cyclists must like it.

Frogs -- our kids love them and we've got plenty of them.

Aren't these photos great?  Cyndee Sharpe is the photographer, a local artist with a portfolio of wonderful work.  If you're looking for professional photography while in Skaneateles (wedding, reunion, group pictures at the cabin etc.) you can contact her at http://www.sharpefotos.com/.   She knows Paul's Cabin and will come down to capture your special memories.

View a slide show of her work.  The show will open if you have Microsoft PowerPoint installed on your computer.
